Church Member — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 25, 2026

What this covers

This policy explains what personal information Church Member collects, why, and who can see it, across the member app (iOS, Android, and web), the church admin dashboard, and the partner portal. Church Member is operated on behalf of the individual church you join — each church's data is kept separate from every other church on the platform.

Information we collect

When you sign up as a member

Full name and phone number (required), and email address, home address, and a profile photo (all optional, added later from your Profile screen).

When you use the app

Attendance records (which service you checked into and when), and transaction records (which partner discount you redeemed and when). Your membership card includes a QR code used to identify you at check-in and at partner businesses.

If you sign up as a partner business

Business name, contact email, and the offers you publish. Redemption records show which members used your offers and when.

If you're a church admin

Your email address and login credentials, and the content you enter for your church (service times, contact info, notifications you send).

We don't collect payment or financial account information — discounts are tracked as a percentage off, not a processed transaction amount.

Camera access

The app requests camera access to scan QR codes at check-in and, for partners, to scan a member's card. Camera images aren't stored or uploaded — the camera is only used to read the QR code in the frame.

How your information is used

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.

Who can see your information

Where your information is stored

Data is stored on Railway's cloud infrastructure and transmitted using encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Sign-in uses a token-based session rather than storing your password in a readable form.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your membership is active with your church. If you ask your church admin to remove your account, or the church itself is no longer active on the platform, your data is deleted or deactivated accordingly.

Your choices

Address and photo are optional and can be added, changed, or removed at any time from your Profile screen. To review, correct, or delete other information, contact your church's admin directly — they manage your membership record — or reach the platform using the contact details below.

Children's privacy

Church Member is intended for church members generally, not specifically marketed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 without a parent or guardian's involvement through their church.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, the effective date above will be updated and, if appropriate, members will be notified in-app.

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to privacy@memberchurch.app, or directed to your church's admin for anything specific to your membership.
